  ich habe vor mir eine 10 TB Festplatte zuzulegen. Welche ist besser für ein Qnap NAS geeignet? Die Iron Wolf oder die Skyhawk? Offiziell scheint die Iron Wolf für NAS zu sein. Die Skyhawk ist jedoch günstiger und von den Spezifikationen identisch wenn ich das richtig sehe: beide sind 24/7 geeignet, haben 180 TB Workload pro Jahr, 1 Mio. Stunden MTBF ...

  hier vielleicht ein für dich interessanter Test [entry]116[/entry] Ansonsten sei anzumerken, dass die Skyhawk speziell für Videoüberwachung optimiert ist und somit nicht einer typischen lese/schreib Anwendung eines NAS entspricht

• Deinen Testbericht habe ich bereits gelesen, danke dafür.

  Für die Videoüberwachung ist die Festplatte ja meiner Meinung nach eher höher belastet als bei einem NAS. Schließlich wird da ja mit (laut Seagate) bis zu 64 Kameras gleichzeitig auf die Platte geschrieben. Entsprechend hoch sind dann auch die Belastungen für die Festplatte.

  Ich frage mich halt, ob die Iron Wolf nicht die exakt gleiche Festplatte mit einem anderen Label und höherem Preis ist, weil es gerade soeinen Hype um NAS gibt. Davon abgesehen werden Aufnahmen von Uberwachungskameras o.ö. ja auch haufig auf ein NAS gespeichert. Die Skyhawks müssten daher ja zwangsweise auch NAS geeignet sein...

• Auf der kürzlichen World Tour in Düsseldorf wurde die Skyhawk explizit für Videoüberwachung empfohlen, gerade vor dem Hintergrund, dass diese auf lesen schreiben optimiert ist. Es kann natürlich sein, dass die Skyhawk eine IronWolf ist aber sich von der Software unterscheidet und dann ist sie wieder keine IronWolf.

  Die Frage wird der Support von Seagate sicherlich besser beantworten können.

• physikalisch meines wissens nach das selbe, jedoch ist die skyhawk für videoüberwachung und daher 70% schreiben und 30% lesen

• Bei einer Videooptimierten Platte ist zu beachten
  Das der Schreibvorgang bei einer Aufzeichnung gleichmäßiger ist und nicht wie bei einem NAS ungleichmäßig bis mal bei nicht Benutzung gegen null

  Eine videoplatte ist darauf ausgelegt permanent am schreiben zu sein
  Ich denke für eine Nas eher ungeeignet
