  • Plasma-Stürmer: Das Scharfschützengewehr in Ratchet and Clank.

We've finally arrived to the final area in the game after completing our runthrough of Kalebo III! If you have yet to do so, go pick up any and all Gold Bolts and RYNO Holocards that you can (there's one last one here on the Deplanetizer) before finishing up the level, because once you do you'll be done with the game!

You can start up NG+ afterwards, which will leave you with all your weapons and a couple of other neat things like the ability to enter the Insomniac Museum and also buy Omega Weapons, but you will lose all story progress and all gadgets!

Now that we have the Hologuise gadget, we will be able to use it to transform into Quark for a brief period of time to get past the robot guards! However, if you try to attack or jump you will forcibly transform back into Ratchet, so be mindful of that. You can use the Hologuise by selecting it in the Weapons Wheel.

When you first start playing, go up the stairs and you'll find a Gadgetron vendor. Buy anything you don't have, restock on ammunition, and upgrade any weapons you have with any spare Raritanium. Then, once you step on the Quark pad while being Quark, you will open the door in front of us. Head down the corridor as Quark, and then once you're near the forcefield with the Warbot in front of it, press circle on your PS4 controller to have him open it up for us. Don't get caught while in the corridor as Ratchet, as the Warbot will press the red button and kill us using lasers if he does.

Once he opens the forcefield, as Quark, get behind him and then do two slam attacks with your Omniwrench to kill him. This is the best way to kill these guys when they're alone as it costs no ammo and is fairly easy to do. If you want, you can use your weapons, but it's recommended you do this instead. Once you've done that, head towards the next Quark pad and open up the next door.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

For the next area, we'll have a Warbot walking back and forth on an upper ledge that we'll have to jump up to. Wait for him to turn around, jump up (you'll transform into Ratchet), and then transform back into Quark before he turns around again.

Walk past him, then wave to the Warbot near the forcefield. He'll open up the forcefield for us, then we should walk behind him and do the double Omniwrench slam again on the Warbot near the forcefield and then take out the other one in the hallway using your weapons, as that one will be a bit tankier. You can still kill him using Omniwrench slams but it will take more than two to kill him. Once they're all dead, the lasers in the room will turn off.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Have you guessed where we are yet? We're actually in Drek's room right now from the last visit here on the Deplanetizer! If you missed the gold bolt here, in the top right corner of the above image you should find a green button (red in the image) that will drop down a pathway to get to the gold bolt!

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Head into the next area as Quark. This time, we'll need to jump over a couple of times to reach the last platform. Just wait at the edge of the path until the Warbot turns around, then quickly jump to the last platform and turn into Quark. Wave at him, let him turn off the forcefield, then wait for him to turn around again. Don't hit him, though, turn back into Quark.

The reason why is because in the next room there will be another two Warbots as well as some robotic dogs. Here, the Omniwrench method is not recommended as there are too many enemies to do it safely. Instead, throw out a Groovitron, a Photon Drum, and wail on those Warbots.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Once they're all dead, head to the upper platform in the back part of the area and then jump up the pillar in front of it using the railings on the side. Then, on the left side of the room you should find some more railings leading to the next doorway. Once you get close, though, a Warbot will come out of the door in front of us, so don't show yourself unless you want to get killed by lasers. Instead, wait for him to walk to the right side, near the crate on the right, and then just slam him over and over again while he's in the corner using the Omniwrench.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

In the next area, go down the elevator and you should find yourself among several Warbots this time. Just to be safe, get behind the Warbot near the button and then throw down a Groovitron. Once you've done that, kill the Warbots like you normally would. As you kill some of them, more of them will spawn on the other side of the room, so be mindful of that. After you've killed them all, go to the other side of the room and head up the elevator.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

If you recall, we were in this room back on our first visit to the Deplanetizer as well. It's one of the rooms that contains a gold bolt, but ignore that for now. Inside this room will be two patrolling Warbots, with the red button being on the right side of the room from where we entered. Head over to it, throw down a Groovitron, and take out the two Warbots. After you've done that, more of them will spawn from the other side of the room. Once they're all dead, you should be good to go.

To get the gold bolt in this room, it's fairly simple. If you look in the above picture, behind Ratchet (or Quark, in this case) there will be a large crate with a giant blue hexagon on it. Do a high jump to get up to the top, then climb up some railings, and then finally travel along some moving platforms and you should be able to get the gold bolt

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Heading into the next area, we'll have another jumping over some platforms while waiting for the Warbot to turn around section like we had earlier. There will be some bombs floating in between the platforms though, so be mindful of them. The strategy is still the same, just use the Omniwrench double slam to kill him once you're near him.

Then, continue on as Quark and go up the magnet rail to the left of us. You'll have to go through some lasers, but it shouldn't be too difficult, just time your movements correctly and you'll be fine. Once you're on the other side, slam that Warbot near the red button over the side of the railing for the hell of it. Before the next area, there will be another Gadgetron Vendor, so stock up if you don't have much ammo left.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

In the next area, there will be a ton more Warbots. So we'll just do what we usually do: Throw a Groovitron near the red button, throw out some Photon Drums, and take the Warbots out the way we prefer to. As you kill more of them, more will come out of some of the rooms at the other side of the area. Still, though, it should not be very difficult if you keep using the Groovitron and Photon Drums to deal continuous damage to the enemies.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Once they're all dead, solve the Trespasser puzzle to get the location of the gravity stabilizer, which will be our next destination in the level. Once you've solved that, head back the way we came and two flying Warbots will come out of the gap in front of us. Take care of them like you normally would, preferably with a Groovitron. Once they're dead, before swinging to the other side, take out your Plasma Striker and snipe the Warbot that's on the other side.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Then swing over, cross the platforms up ahead, and then you'll be in the room that we got the last gold bolt in, which has some Warbots in it and will spawn more Warbots as you kill them. An easy way to deal with this room is to just throw out some Photon Drums and move to the side of the tunnel, that way the Warbots won't hit you but your Photon Drum pulses will.

Regardless of your method, once the room is cleared, head through the door on the left side of the area. As you do, some Blarg soldiers will go through and try to kill you, but they should be fairly easy to defeat. As you head down the tunnel, there should be a ton of small robot dogs, so throw out a Photon Drum here to easily take care of them. If you don't have one, well, just be warned that there are a ton of these dogs, so be careful.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Once you go further into the tunnel, there will be a Blarg Flamer and some Warbots in the back. Glove of Doom is a good way to defeat these guys, just head back into the tunnel and throw these guys out to easily kill the enemies here.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

In the next room there will be some regular/flying Warbots, some Blarg soldiers, and some small robot dogs in the immediate vicinity. Take care of them, using the crates in the area as cover when you can. Then, head over to the right side of the area and you should find a large bolt that you can turn.

Turn it, then head over to the bridge area and you should see some Blarg soldiers on an upper platform up ahead. Take out your Plasma Striker and snipe them for an easy way to get rid of them. Then, head on over to where they were and climb up to that area.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

If you look down, you should see two Warbots. Take care of them using a Groovitron and whatever weapon you want to use, but try and stay on this upper platform. Once they're dead, take out the Plasma Striker and shoot the Blarg soldiers way in the back, in the top left of the upper image, on an upper platform.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Once they're dead, go jump down and then be prepared to use the cover in the area as best as you can, because there will be a Blarg dropship that will arrive. Throw out a Groovitron to deal with it, then use the Plasma Striker or Predator Launcher to easily kill it. After that, there will be some Warbots who come out of the large doorway that was behind the dropship, so kill them using the Photon Drum and hide behind the cover in the area.

Remember the last Blarg soldiers we sniped? You can actually use some crates in front of the upper platform to get up there to where they were, which is what you'll want to do if you want the last RYNO holocard in the game! Be sure to pick this up!

Now, head into the room where the last Warbots came out of. You'll find a Gadgetron Vendor which you will DEFINITELY want to use now if you have any spare Raritanium or ammunition missing. This is because we're about to do several boss fights, so get ready for that. Once you're ready, go down the path and you'll go down an elevator to a Trespasser puzzle. Solve it, and then we will have to fight Captain Quark himself!

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Quark is one of the more interesting bosses in the game, due to the fact that he himself uses some of cool moves, like the Groovitron for instance! When he does this, you'll dance uncontrollably and be forced to play around his moves while dancing! It's a very interesting fight, although it can be easy if you have your own Groovitron (which you should).

Move Counter
Quark shoots several green blaster shots from his gun. Just move in a single direction while jumping to avoid the shots.
Throws a grenade that explodes and creates a ring that expands and deals damage to Ratchet. Jump over it, pretty simple. He uses this mainly when you're dancing.
Throws out a Groovitron that causes Ratchet to dance uncontrollably - with style! This will go on as long as you let it, what you'll need to do is hit the Groovitron with your wrench. Jumping is your most useful tool while dancing.
Shoots out a Warmonger shot that splits into several rockets, raining down from above. Simply move out of the way of the targetting indicators that will be shown on the ground and you'll be fine.
Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

Quark is a very interesting boss because he's a story character we've been with this whole time! He'll say witty lines while we fight him and it's generally a very enjoyable fight. The main strategy we'll want to use against him is just a simple word: Groovitron. This one item will completely destroy Quark, because unlike us he has no easy way of just destroying it. Just keep throwing out Groovitrons whenever possible, it is without a doubt the most important thing while doing this fight.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen
Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

As for weapons to damage Quark, Mr. Zurkon is amazing, as he will just pump out tons of damage for this fight. Warmonger, Predator Launcher, and Buzz Blades, and the Plasma Striker all work very well against him too. If you've got the Buzz Blades upgraded to the max weapon level, they will probably destroy Quark, so that is highly recommended if you have that.

The fight shouldn't take too long, just keep dodging his attacks by jumping and moving accordingly and it should be finished without any problems. Once you defeat him, you'll be shown a cutscene and the gist of it is we'll need to destroy Nefarius. The main thing that will go down here at first is a standard grindrail level, pretty simple stuff, shouldn't be too difficult to complete. Once that's done, however, it's time for the final boss of the game!

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

It's time for the final boss, Dr. Nefarius! The mastermind behind the whole plot in the game, we'll finally get our chance to beat his face (or rather, his robot's face) into the ground using all the weapons and gadgets we've obtained over our journey. The entire fight is actually played with mainly the Thrusterpack, so be sure to definitely refill your fuel whenever you're getting low!

The interesting thing about this fight is that Dr. Nefarius is a scripted fight that will be broken down in a moment. For now, here are all of his moves:

Move Counter
Shoots various beams from his hands. Fly upwards or downwards in one direction while keeping a distance from Nefarius.
Puts both his hands together and fires a laser from one side of the screen to the other.  If you're flying, then just fall down or fly upwards depending on where your position is relative to the laser. If you're on the ground, then fly upwards.
Shoots out four large bombs from his chest in the direction of Ratchet. Just fly away from the direction of the bombs when he does that, should be fairly easy.
Spins his hands in place and then releases a shockwave, damaging Ratchet if he's close. Move away from Nefarius when you see his hands spinning and you should be fine.
He shoots out several purple bombs that float in the air for a second and then slowly converge onto Ratchet. Use a weapon, like the Pyrocitor, to destroy them while you are flying backwards.
Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

So, Dr. Nefarius is somewhat of a scripted fight. When you hit him down to around 80% of his HP, he will go to the big supernova in the middle of the map. When he does this, he'll heal a little bit, be blown back to the platform we usually fight on with the health and ammunition that spawns periodically, and then destroy it, forcing us to move to a new platform. When we get to that new platform, we'll find three flying Warbots there waiting for us. He does this around one more time afterwards, once he hits 40% of his HP.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

When he starts going for the supernova, what you will want to do is get any ammunition, nanotech, or fuel you might need on the current platform you're fighting on, and then head to the very next platform (counter-clockwise). When you get there, if you made it in time you should be there before the Warbots even spawn, so when they do, throw out some Photon Drums and let those kill the Warbots. If that doesn't work, then just shoot them down like you normally would. In the first phase, he only has the beam attack at first, then he gains the laser and the four large bomb moves in the second phase, and in the final phase he will gain access to all of his moves. As a tip, never forget to check your jetpack fuel. It's very easy to forget that you don't have unlimited fuel and if you fall, you will die no matter what.

Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen
Ratchet and clank deplanetisator verschlossene türen öffnen

As for weapons, it's highly recommended that you use Mr. Zurkon and Buzz Blades, as rapidly hitting weapons seem to deal much more damage to Dr. Nefarius than anything else. Photon Drum, even when maxed out modules and thrown twice, will do pitiful damage to Dr. Nefarius compared to those weaponsPredator Launcher is another good alternative, the Pyrocitor, Pixelizer, and Plasma Striker are also good alternatives. Due to how little ammunition you can get during this fight, it's not unlikely you'll run out of ammo for multiple guns, so be prepared for that.

As long as you're ready to move to other platforms and take care of the Warbots located there, as long as you keep count of your ammunition and fuel amount, then you should be able to easily defeat Dr. Nefarius! Once he's dead, you have just now completed Ratchet and Clank (PS4) and can now start a whole new adventure in NG+!
