How to resize an image in Word on ipad

You can add photos and graphics to any page and replace media place holders with your own images. You can add photos from photo albums on your device, insert photos and images from iCloud or take a photo with your device and add it directly to your document.

  1. On the page where you want to add the image, tap

  2. Tap Photo or Video.

    To insert an image from iCloud or another service, tap “Insert from”.

  3. Navigate to the image, then tap it.

  4. Drag any blue dot to resize the image.

You can also copy an image from another document or application.

You can add a media placeholder (to which you can add an image, video or audio file) to a document. Using a media place holder lets you easily replace media without disturbing other elements on the page.

  1. Add an image to your document, then format it the way you want your document’s images to look.

    You can add a mask, add a border, rotate the image, change its size and more.

  2. Tap the image to select it, tap

  2. Tap an album.

    To use a photo from iCloud or another service, tap “Insert from” below the albums.

  3. Tap the photo you want to add.

    If you’re inserting a photo from iCloud or another service, tap folders to locate the image.

  4. Drag any blue dot to resize the image.

You can take a photo with the camera on your device and insert the image directly into your document.

  1. On the page where you want to add the photo, do one of the following:

    • Tap

  2. To take the photo, tap Photo, tap

    • Insert the photo: Tap Use Photo.

    • Take the photo again: Tap Retake.

    • Cancel and return to the document: Tap Retake, then tap Cancel.

  3. Drag any blue dot to resize the image.

You can edit the photo as you would any other image. The photo appears in the Photos app on your device.

You can add a description to any image in your document. Image descriptions are read by assistive technology (for example, VoiceOver) when someone uses that technology to access your document. Image descriptions aren’t visible anywhere in your document.

  1. Tap the image to select it, tap

  2. Tap Description, then tap in the text box and enter your text.

Most Pages templates are created for documents with standard paper sizes, but you can change a document’s paper size at any time. You can also change its orientation (portrait or landscape). Afterwards, you may need to make adjustments so that the document looks the way you want.

  1. Tap

  2. Tap a paper size.

    In a word-processing document, you may need to tap the Document tab at the top of the screen to see the paper size controls.

You can also tap Custom Size to set custom paper sizes. See the task below for more information.

  2. Tap a page orientation.

    In a word-processing document, you may need to tap the Document tab at the top of the screen to see the page orientation controls.

    Note: You can use only one page orientation for your document. Pages doesn’t support a mix of pages in portrait and landscape within the same document.

    In a word-processing document, you may need to tap the Document tab at the top of the screen to see the paper size controls.

  3. Tap Width or Height, then change the value to the new size.

How to resize an image in Word on ipad

Resizing a table makes the table larger or smaller; it doesn’t change the number of rows and columns it contains.

  1. Tap the table, then tap

  2. Drag any of the blue dots on the edge of the table to make the table larger or smaller.

    To resize the rows and columns simultaneously, drag the blue dot in the bottom-right corner.

You can lock a table so that it can’t be edited, moved or deleted.

  • Lock a table: Tap the table, tap
