How to put iphone 11 on silent

Both the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, like many other cell phones, offer ways to silence your phone using vibrate and silent modes. As a business owner, knowing how to set these modes on your iPhone enables you to practice proper business etiquette. For example, when you are in a meeting with a client, it is best to set your phone to silent mode to show your client you are giving him your full attention. There are three different silent and vibration modes for your iPhone: silent, silent/vibrate and vibrate.

Activating Vibrate Mode

  1. Tap "Settings" on your iPhone's home screen.

  2. Tap "Sounds."

  3. Tap the "Vibrate" switch under "Ringer and Alerts" to turn the vibrate mode on or off. In vibrate mode, phone calls and text messages vibrate the phone, rather than make noise. However, all other aspects of the phone, such as watching a movie, still produce sounds.

  4. Tap the "Vibrate" switch under "Silent" to turn the silent/vibrate mode on or off. In this mode, when the silent switch is turned on, no aspects of the phone produce noise and all phone calls and text messages cause the phone to vibrate.

Activating Silent Mode

  1. Turn off all vibration modes in the Sounds menu.

  2. Move the ring/silent switch on the side of the iPhone to the "On" position to enable silent mode. When the switch is in the "On" position, an orange bar appears on the switch and a picture of a bell with a line through it appears on your iPhone's screen.

  3. Move the ring/silent switch on the side of the iPhone to the "Off" position to turn off silent mode.

The Ring/Silent switch is on the left-hand side of your iPhone. You can use it to control which sounds are played through your iPhone speaker.

In Ring mode, you'll hear ringtones and alerts. In Silent mode, you won't — but your iPhone can still play sounds, such as when you play music or videos.
